Would welcome some advice please. Myself and my wife have both experienced caravaning with our famililies and both loved it. We now have a little family of our own [1 baby boy!] and plan more [eventually].

Would you advise buying large van straight away?

We have seen this on ebay, what do you think guys [we would go and see it first]. The seller wants £12250 all in - is it worth it?

Richard,

Definitely most important to go and see the van to assess it and the contents.

Also gives you the opportunity to check out the paperwork.

You could also contact CRIS Registration to ensure it is not stolen. Is the warranty transferable....the manufacturer will tell you this.Powertouch warranties I believe run for 5 years,is this also transferable? When was it last serviced?

Can you keep the van at home or will you need storage? Spaces are like gold dust to aquire.

Our son just recently bought his van the same way and went to view it.I was dubious at first about buying a van this way,but have to say he now has a top quality van fully equipped for a fraction of the new price.

No doubt other forum members will have a few ideas as well,so I'll wish you all the best.

Hi Richard, as Tina says I do have an Avante 630 based special Firestorm although mine is a 5 berth fixed bunk (fb). Not sure which one this is as most elddis dealers will have their own special edition and their prices range between 12k to 16k approx depending on spec. Not sure if its good value as it really depends on what price you put on the extras but one thing I would check is how much of the payload has been taken up with all of these goodies as with figures of 1400 and 1650 max(payload 250) you might find yourself travelling light. Brian.

Richard

We have been caravaning now for 2 years and the van we purchased was brand new Elddis Avante 534 ( 4brth), we have a 5yr old and the fine is fine for a small family. We are thinking of selling the van and purchasing another and we would be asking
