aks 3004 stabiliser

hi folks, have the above fitted to my caravan and apparently it has wear indicators for the friction pads. Forgive my ignorance but where are they and what am i looking for, also is it difficult/long job to change the damper in the coupling head and how much roughly should this cost, many thanks indeed, ian.
