Hi All

Hope someone can help with this.

I have a new Abbey Spectrum with ALDE central heating and have so far had to top up the fluid level to the tune of about 2 litres (over a period of four weeks).

There is no evience of any leakage but it seems rather a lot to be just evapration.

Surely the place to ask is your dealer, if it is a new van and under warranty.

You could also ask ALDE direct, before taking the matter up with the dealer..01933-677765

you definitely have a problem - mine is never topped up between services. at the risk of stating the obvious, there must be a leak somewhere to lose that much fluid

Hi Barking, The level of fluid in the resevoir should be about 10mm above the minimum line with the heat off and circulation pump off, any higher than this then the excess fluid simply disappears thro the expansion tube when the heating is on due to expansion,if you have the levels set to the above and are still losing fluid then you have a leak,in that case your dealer is your next call.

Hi All

Many thanks for the replys, sorry I have not responded but we were on a site without a signal for my nternet access.

Contacted the dealer which for several reasons was not entirely successful, a matter we will take up separately.

we telephoned Alde to ask them for advice, after asking us to check a couple of things we were able to pinpoint the leak.

Once identified an Alde technician was with us within the hour and fixed it, without any charge.

The problem originated from the manafacturer that had omitted to put one of the pipe retaining clips in place and the pipe worked loose over a few weeks.

Nothing but praise for the service provided Alde who were absoloutly fantastic.

Hi Barking,

I have always been impressed by the Alde system - never let me down and incredibly efficient and good to live with. Nice to know service is good too!!
