Hi , we are new to caravanning and are at present looking for our first caravan.

Just a bit of advice please. I know it may sould a daft question but in the all in one wetrooms , where the loo and shower are combined , does the whole room get soaked each time the shower is used? and is it a pain in the bum ahving to dry it out all the time?

Thanks.

Hi Kate,

We have a 4 berth fixed bed with an all in one wet room and basin in the rear bedroom. We have never used the shower due to the fact that it is all in one and you would have to make sure it was well dried out. We tend to have a wash in the bedroom or use the site facilities. We bought the van as we wanted a fixed bed which we are delighted with and the layout works really well for us but everyone has there own preference.

We've got the indiana and position the rear slightly up so any water runs back to the tray.It only takes a minute or two to dry the tray and walls,we have two shower mats and put the dry one in the wet one on the line to dry out.We wanted a fixed bed and a sigle axle there is not much else to choose.Had a tansverse bed with shower and separate toilet ,old Eccles Jewel but it didnt work for us.Real drawback is if one wants the toilet while the shower is used but again you can only shower for a few minutes as there is only 10 liters of hot water to mix with cold so it is not usually too serious.

Hi Andy and Kate,

We have a new Coachman 535/4 with an all in one washroom and toilet. The toilet swivels and the majority of the time we have it in the forward position and use the whole compartment as the toilet. However, we can swivel the toilet to the side and a transparent shield comes across to block it off, therefore when having a shower the whole compartment doesn't get wet. It takes literally seconds to clean up after a shower, just a squirt of cleaner and a rub down keeps it in pristine condition.

Hi Andy & Kate,

We were raising similar questions before we purchased our Ace Supreme Twinstar at the beginning of July. Whether you choose a cubicle shower or a combi bathroom, they both only take a few minutes to wipe down.

I am sure what ever you choose you will be more than happy with it.

We only ever use our own facilities and have a shower in front of the loo. There is a door to protect the loo but the walls etc get wet. As a previous writer said have two mats and mop the tray. If you get the van level the water always collects at the end opposite to the waste. If you tip the van up at the nose water tends to collect at the back of the van. Either way just mop up. In summer open the window and lid and it dries out in no time. In winter let the warm air do its job.

Enjoy your van and use the shower.
