Wondering if anyone has come across a good deal recently.

We need a new card for Europe and would appreciate any advice.

Will be used in a Huawei E5577.

Smarty May do some decent deals. They are part of Three.

I dropped on a special "Unlimited" deal with Smarty for which I pay £16 per month. I have just checked though and it's back to its normal price of £20. Even at that price it's still excellent value as it really has no useage limit, caps or throttling in the UK. I use it in a TP-Link M7650 4G Mi-Fi mobile router. Smarty uses the "Three" phone network and coverage is excellent offering 3G & 4G. It streams 4K movies effortlessly.

However, it's worth bearing in mind that most if not all phone companies put a cap on data useage when the SIM is used abroad. Smarty's cap is 12Gb per month. I found this out while in France for three weeks in June. It's easy enough to top it up though if you should run out.

I just purchased an unlimited plan and even though it is advertised at £20/month when I went through the registration it was offered at £18/month.
Like you, I would have paid the £20. That's less than 2 weeks of rubbish WiFi on aCAMC site, it certainly wasn't up to streaming anything on Netflix etc. Plus the whole family can use it and can take it in the car with us as the kids are sure to run out of data before the end of the holiday, and more likely on the drive down

Edit, just checked and the site we are visiting is now a "Hotspot" site, so can only get WiFi in a communal area.

I use Three and Vodafone(Asda) in the same phone. Smarty is owned by Three and looked a good deal for me. However, I couldn't get it to work reliably. Customer service is only via an on line chat and can take ages to get a reply and they only go through the things you've probably already tried. In the end I gave up and got a refund.

Three does Wifi calling with no problem. Vodafone(Asda) is supposed to but wouldn't work on my phone. It seems Vodafone is picky over which phones it will support.

It depends.

I would hartely recommend Smarty. But that is for a light user in this country. They are responsive and reliable and cheap. And, if I go away in the van I can switch my plan up from 4gb to 30gb for just 1 month.

They do have roaming plans. But you would need to examine them to see if they make sense for you.

Thanks for responses so far. Will check prices on line.
So far as I know I only need to replace the existing data card with similar to be ready for France. The current card was a 2 year one and will expire very soon hence the need for a replacement.
