Hi,
we have a 2.5 year old auto Sorento with 5 speed box and tow a 1400kg Bailey. Recently over 2000 miles in France we got 22mpg towing and our normal non-towing is around 29-32mpg depending on journey etc. We have another tow car which is manual but with 200 bhp but everytime we now use the Kia as the auto is just so much more relaxing for manouevring, traffic, hill starts. I hav etaken the Kia on an off road day around the bridleways of Salisbury Plain and again found the auto did everything asked of it. I think an extra 2-3mpg is worth it. I am aware that a few Kias (manual/aoto) have not been giving very good mpg. Mine seems to be about on a par with most, but some are much lower. The Uk Kia Forum-Home is a useful site. Some of the owners are trying to see whether the problem with low mpg is specific to a particular batch of cars and thier ECUs. Have a look around the sites. I get the same mpg as I did with my previous LR Disco 2.5 manual.
