Avondale going bust

With Avondale closing down and the caravan industry in general in trouble i think its about time the caravaners stuck their ground and told the manufacturers what we want them to do instead of their attitude of, youve bought it now hard luck we dont want to know about the faults.

If they dont give us the warrentee we want , or the product isnt up to scratch and its not sorted without a fight then they can stick it and join Avondale .

Come on caravaners lets stick together and demand a good product and aftersales for a fair price.

I sympathise with your viewpoint but manufacturers do not survive without selling new vans. Yes, if they sell a bad product then nobody buys it, but most vans are not in that situation. They sell a large number and a few have faults which they or the dealer try to fix. Unfortunately, it is a fact of our production line industry. Remember Leyland and Friday cars???

I suspect a few more manufacturers will go to the wall before things get better and then all warranties are worthless. We all live i hope nothing major will go wrong.

Avondale will not be the last to close down. Just looking at this forum you can see the trend. Even the big boys like Bailey,s are very very quite at the moment. My brother works for BMW Cars and there laying off saff he thinks her will be layed of by Christmas. Honda cars have closed early for Christmas. Things are going to get worse before thay get better.

All you can do is batten down the hatches and hope it misses you. We got the BANK,s to thank for all this mess.

Stephen. I would be rather interested to know how we can lay the blame at the feet of the banks? sure they have played there part,but so have we and the manufacturing industry itself, and the government and the stock market, ect ect.

But most of all its people, not establishments that are the root of all and any problem.

We live in a pyramid style loop,sooner or later when we run out of idiots,we ourselves have to foot the bill.Thats whats called capitalism.
