Hi all, I just wondered what ladders to use on my awning to tie down onto a hardstanding, it is a seasonal pitch, and the rubber ladders I use at present seems to snap and break every so often, dont know either to look at some bungee tie's, or would they not be strong enough. Any feedback please!!!! Thanks Jules. :)

hi, although the standard ladders do perish and break now and again they are fairly cheap to replace, if it works why modify it,
I allways carry a few spares, but on the odd occasion I dont have a spare one have used sturdy tiewraps as a put me on.
not sure of which bungee ties you have been looking at, the adjustable ones look a bit weak to me. I suppose the hair band type could work depending on the ammout of stretch used, but not as a long term solution, personaly I would just stick with what works and buy some spare standard ladders.

Is it possible to double up the ladders at each anchorage point to make them stronger?

Even if it is possible to double up on 'ladders' if would not recommend it to be done.
When exposed to high winds, something has to give. I would prefer to replace the odd ladder instead of having the awning itself or the frame becomming dammaged

We had an awning that marked the windows when it was rolled up,so I replaced all of the cheap ladders ,I. Had to cut of the old ones and then I attached new ones using the loop on the canvas to the ladders with tie wraps ( double coiled) it worked ok .
