hi Marc, an awning strip replacement is an easy D.I.Y. job. Im doing mine tomorrow. Remove the plastic strip insert and find and remove all the retaining screws, then using a narrow wallpaper scraper, and insert it firmly between the strip and the van and pull away the awning strip forcing into the mastik with the scraper as you go, once removed, clean away excess mastik from the van and clean surface with white spirit till its spotless. to fit new strip, apply fresh mastick to the van and the new strip and screw it back into position, you should have excess mastik oozing out the sides of the new strip which can be wiped off n cleaned away with white spirit. I can recommend Seamseal CV, or Sikaseal 221, if you tour in the winter months which is becoming popular, you can use sikaseal 291 which is the marine version of 221 and has a higher salt resistance . personaly, I prefer 221
