Hi i have an Awning used twice and last time i took it down found it damaged, it is torn about an inch on the area of where it goes into the caravan awning rail (ie around the cord area)

I just wondered the best type of repair and if anyone has done this job,at present i havent done anything,so is it best just to leave it or seal it with something, remembering that whatever i do it has to pass in the caravan awning rail,so it cannot be bulky.thanks in advance.,Eddie

HI! Eddie when you bought your awning did you not get a spare bit of patching material with it (if new) failing that you could try hand stitching it yourself or some Duct tape or look in rear section of Practical Caravan magazine 2 or 3 company,s advertising repairs . worth a try

Cheers Duggie

Hi Eddie

I have had several repairs done by a profesional and it has always come back very neat.

Dont Know where you are but I use 'Maureen' at the caravan centre at Leicester, she is very good and inexpensive

Hope this helps

Hi

We have a Dorema awning, we had our previous Dorema awning repaired by Dorema after being damaged in serious wind and rain. Did a very good, hence buying another awning when we changed the van.

Hi Eddie,

I've not had an awning repaired, but did need an Isabella awning extending and used the Canvas Repair Centre in Burton On Trent, they can arrange collection and delivery from anywhere in the uk,might be worth a shot.

BTW, they used original manufacturer's material too.

Alb,

When you say caravan centre in Leicester is that The Caravan Company. I live near Northampton and I also need a repair to the roof of my sunncamp 260 awning.

Hi Eddie,

Our awning was torn from the cord that goes through the awning channel up at Ullapool during high in the summer.

At our next site, Oban, reception advised us to speak to the sail makers down the road.

They fixed it in a couple of hours
