Awnings in Windy Weather

I have a Dorema awning with easygrip aluminium poles. During high winds the poles kept coming loose due to the direct force onto the front of the awning causing the easygrip joints to slip. To overcome this I fitted jubliee (pipe) clips to the poles to prevent the easygrip joints slipping. Works a treat.

Well im down here in Brean at the moment,up against the sea wall with the van pointing towards the beach.
Weve got the Kampa Ralley 390 and although im totally happy with it,the wind is coming up off the beach and hitting the side of the awning.
The front is ok(have it well pegged down and storm straps),but the wind is blowing the top of the awning(the bit which is threaded through the awning rail)along the rail.
Last night it travelled about 9 inches along the rail

Almost had to wake the wife up and get her to go out and slide it back again...ha ha.
Dont suppose there is a lot we can do about it owing to the direction of the wind.

Yep I had the same problem with my Bradcot with ali poles at Woolacombe bay. I wrapped insulation tape around pole before I put on the Jubilee's to prevent them marking the ali.
