Am returning to the fold after couple of years m/h.Thinking of getting the peg' 462 2011. Your forum remarks by some contributers is giving me the willeys. Stone damage and shaking etc. Now stones , we had a Coachman Pastiche and travelled many miles and of course it had some digs on the front and equelly on the sides , i often use to remark about damage on the sides and not by hitting anything. Now we tow with a Skoda Octy 2.0 140 dsg Elegance which has quite good mudflaps even so the crap which use to fly up whithin short time i got use to.mainly this was mud but now you say its the ally surface which is getting more than usual. Have anyone gone into better mudflaps because if we go ahead i will try something even though Bailey have now done a update on the front.

We have a Pegasus 524 purchased in march this year. We have used it on around 12 different sites covering around 2000 miles in the process. No stone chips, towing behind a Sorento over most types of roads and tracks, and apart from a failed gas regulator and a leaking door to the water flush tank on the loo (lets rain water in), we have had no problems. Build quality very good, we are thrilled with the 524.

Hi Robert, we purchased our Pegasus 462 in march, this is the first Bailey caravan we have bought, we have taken it away 8 times this year covering in excess of 2600 miles along motorway's A and B roads plus country tracks to access one site, and to date I can report that I have no dents and no other problems to report, I tow with a 2008 Citroen C5 tourer 2.0 Hdi, I have standard mud flaps fitted to both front and rear.
I am not saying that I will never get any dents, but so far none to report, we both like the Pegasus very much, we changed to this design because are previous caravan a Compass Corona 482 had the dreaded damp all along the nearside, unfortunately it was just out of warranty by 6 months.
If you purchase your Pegasus from a reputable dealer like we did with a proper PDI check, then you should have no problems, even if there are a few minor niggles to sort

Hi Robert. My van went into our dealer last week to have the regulator changed after it failed. Truma would not cover the cost but Bailey agreed to do so. My dealer confirmed that the top up door to the loo flush was not sealing correctly and has ordered a new one from Bailey under warranty.

Hi Henry
If you are interested here is the mod I did 4 years ago on my Sorento. Great mudflaps finished off with a red reflector triangle each. They have saved no end of mud and stone chips on our caravan.

WE GOT IT!.Picked up our Peg462 today and i thought i had taken on board all the things we saw at time of viewing. Minor they may be but first was the jockey wheel is in board so must have been looking at the other model, i had thoughts of mounting the tv sat dish on it. The shower unit has no light in inside , just the large one in the ceiling and by the sink. Have found out the Tracker is not working ie press once, wait , alarm goes off so tomorrow back to dealer to see what that is all about. Another thing we were not aware of is the lights under the wall cabinets , we really thought the LED went all round but the side ones are false. The battery was not fitted at time of viewing, oh well.

Hi Robert. Make sure your dealer has registered your Tracker and that you receive written confirmation from Tracker that this has been done. I saw my dealer fax registration to Tracker but when I had not received confirmation a few weeks later I chased them and they had no record of it. I had to send them details again for it to be registered.

Have you a theory, as to why some do have stone dents?

You can still mount your sat dish of the jockey wheel, my ariel uses two brackets off ours to hold the post.
Can't believe the LEDs or false, are you sure?

Ray On our Wyoming the LEDs are 33.33% led lights the remaining 66.66% of each strip is a false.
I t hought it odd at the time but was assured that is how they are. Maybe cost comes into it?

yes dusty cost i would guess? I priced LED strips up for the kitchen replacment in jan, at £80 a metre i thought they were too expensive.

The Valencia we viewed had them on display, but i didn't look that much at them to notice only 30% worked?

That said Ray
The light they give off is soft and comfortable and in fairness adequate for what we want. I expect prices will come down in due course.

Regarding the Tracker PIR, told dealer who got in touch with Tracker as to why setting alarm it goes off, Tracker said try taking batteries out to see what happens, i did and it was ok, also checked batteries and they were almost dead!. Put new batteries in and still no go, phoned Tracker who said they would send new PIR but would have to wait until my registration went through the system.. Bye the way Tracker said is it parked on a slope which it is , so after levelling it up it still did not work.
