I have read a lot of remarks about the new ALUTECH and and other problems but today took the plunge and bought a 2011 462 with all the trimmings. That stone guard facia they have on looks the business, also having a Powertouch mover fitted.Picking it up next week.Take it for a shakedown trip and see if alls well . One thing i did notice and not sure if most caravans are like it and that is the interior woodwork under seats etc.If i had sent out furniture like that in my day i would have my ar * kicked. Still something for me to do on a rainy day err way the weather is i could do a fleet of them.

I do not understand, if you have seen bad workmanship on the van you have just bought, why have you not insisted that the dealer get the van in an ACCEPTABLE TO YOU state?
Whilst buyers are prepared to put up with shoddy work, the industry will not move forward and produce goods which do not have these irritating snags.

I did speak to the dealer about the woodwork and his reply was even the top models are no differant, never the less i will say to him about it again ,thanks.
Hi,I think the remarks about Shoddy Workmanship & the "if I sent" etc. alludes to the construction of the bed boxes and is likely linked to Contract/Wall Seating in Pub's&Club's. Indeed, the major difference is that, unless the seating was open access it was all boxed in and closed off at the point of the backrest meeting the seat (potential fire hazard otherwise).
Could it be that, the expectation is that the inside of the bed boxes should be lined with a matching veneer to the exterior?.
Some things in caravan construction have never/very little changed. To line the inside of bed boxes would add cost, and a little more weight to some already costly & weighty vans.
