I ordered a 2010 Pegasus 546 in early March this year and have just been informed that my delivery date has been moved (again) to mid-July. What is going on - does it really take four months to provide a caravan? Is anyone else having the same problem?

Hello Mike,

That's easy, I ordered my Swift Challenger 570 on the 3rd December 2009, and will collect it on Friday 11th June 2010. The past 12 months or so have been very good for the manufacturers, following some quieter periods, in which they reduced their staffing levels.

Lets hope from both our points of view, that it worth the wait.

Best regards,

George

We had the same problem with our Bailey Olympus - we ordered it in February and the date was put back 3 times. We eventually picked it up last Tuesday 1st June. Hope you get yours soon.

dont put up with it. complain. if yopu had an agreed delivery date then the supplier is now in breach of contract. Complain a lot. You never know you may get it faster and with a few quid back to boot.

I agree with Phil,

Though a word of caution, check the small print on your order very carefully, it may include a clause that protects the dealer from any breech of contract action if the manufacture can't or won't supply to the original schedule or for reasons beyond the dealers control.

If you take my advice I would suggest changing to another manufacturer,I bought my Pegasus 534 in March, on the day of inspection several faults identified still waiting to be done.these include faulty middle peninsular unit,LED lights some missing including the front grab rail, trim falling off etc.On trying to erect the awning discovered the channel was full of very hard glue especially on the joint and the rear corner,I had to clear this out with a hammer and fine chisel.Last weekend found the kitchen window had water inside and the window joint was split.on reporting this to the caravan dealer was told there may be a long delay because this was proving to be a major fault especially with the front windows

Further to my comments about the Pegasus windows I would like to mention that Bailey where not interested in the problem and advised me to take up the issue with their window suppliers,I spoke to Kelly in customer service but she could not help. This a major worry because the window people say it will be at least 5-6 weeks for delivery and also what is going to happen to the remaining windows.I rang Bailey back and reminded them that thr warranty was with tham and not the window supplier but still not the slightest interest shown.Final note the only way to keep less than 100kg nose weight is load behind the axle

Hello Ivan,

Your warranty is not with Bailey caravans but with the organisation that sold it to you (Sale of Goods Act)

The seller is the company that takes your money, so if you have used a finance house, then they are the seller.

Speak to trading Standards and see what they can do to help.
