Ok so I've been going through the checks etc before setting off over the Easter break and the door for the battery box has come off in my hand. Question is can I fix it or do I need a complete new battery box?

Without photographs it is hard to comment.

But even if the hinges and lock were not repairable, I'm pretty sure that a repair could be effected with small stainless steel hinges and a cam lock, I would give careful consideration to the hinge and lock fixings and ensure that any drilled holesfixings were suitably sealed.

I would not be replacing the battery box if I could effect a door repair.

Hopefully someone will come along with a quick fix for you.

We broke the hinge on ours and the general advice was it was not replaceable but a mobile engineer did manage to get a hinge to fit. The basic problem was the bottom of the hinge broke and it was part of the box frame which makes replacing it difficult.

If you still have the broken off parts, try this Q Bond.

Recommended to me on a BMW forum for interior trim tabs. Its generally good on hard plastics - I even keep a spare bottle in the van now. I did use it fix a crack in the non seal flange of a fridge vent farme.

We have broken the hinge on ours (Coachman) and need to replace the whole box & door unfortunately. I just took pictures and e-mailed Coachman directly. They came back to me pretty quickly with a quotation for new. Job done.
