I just bought a 2008 abbey vogue 2. I was told an electrician had connected the water pump directly to the battery (2004 battery) This works fine. However, nothing else works on the battery and there doesn't seem to be any charge going to the battery either(12.74v tested on battery). Everything works when plugged into 240v except the water pump. The control panel isn't working either and only 1 v DC at the control panel plug. I checked all the fuses and they are okay. I've changed the control panel to one made by apuljack engineering still nothing on panel. Anyone any ideas what I should check or do next? Thanks. Fran

There is probably a 20 amp inline fuse between the battery and the power supply, if that has blown you will get some of the symptoms you describe - nothing will work on battery but will work on EHU as the power supply is giving out 12v, also the power supply won't charge the battery as it charges through the fuse.
Trace the wiring from the battery to the power supply and hopefully you'll find the fuse. If it's not that, I think you will need to call in a professional.

I don't really understand why (or indeed how) someone would connect the water pump directly to the battery. It needs a control circuit (on/off switch, pressure switch or tap switches) so they may have moved the control circuit feed. That could mean that it is no longer protected by a fuse so really needs investigating further.
