We went to Bay View but it was about 12 years ago. A simple site, with clean toilet block and a fish and chip shop at the entrance. It was perfect for us. In the evenings they closed the gates for security - not sure what they were stopping but it was a quiet family site about 10 minutes walk from the beach and on the edge of the village with plenty of busy pubs and eating places. . Caravan pitches were around the edge of a large field and quite well spaced. We looked at Ruda while we were there. The pitches were cramped and very close together but they were just next to the beach. Croyde is a beautiful place with a fantastic beach, great walk and cycle rides and a pretty village. Lots of young surfers gather there.
