Hello everyone just wondered if anyone had been to this site? What is the access like? Can you really pitch right by the lakes? What is there to do in the area? Appreciate your comments. Cheers Mandy

We stayed there for a week last year. There are 6 hardstanding pitches that back onto the trout lake and approx. 8 grass pitches that are by the trout lake. We were lucky and had a hard standing pitch. The coarse fishing lake is surrounded by log cabins. Fishing not very good when I was there.

The toilets/showers etc are very clean with piped music playing. There is a small cafe and a restaurant on site. Alos an indoor swimming pool. All staff were friendly and helpful.

There is some road noise from the A49 which is a very busy road.

Hello

Shrewsbury has numerous things to offer, shopping, boat trips on the river, a new theatre. To get to the centre you could use the park and ride at Battlefield , its next to a large Tesco, on the north side of Shrewsbury. There are some English Heritage places in Shropshire. National trust - you have Attingham, nice for walks and the house, just off the ring road. In the opposite direction you have National trust Chirk Castle, again a nice place to visit.

Hope this helps

Haven't used the site but know of its good reputation. (we live in the county.) Don't know what you like to do but some trips include, (in addition to those above);

Ironbridge- 10 museums incl victorian town- buy a passport for all 10. iron bridge village is free and worth a visit.

RAF Cosford aircraft museum- free entry and lost about the cold war

Cardingmill valley and church stretton- beautiful scenery and lovely walking. At the valley park in the top carpark

Ellesmere- a lovely village with lake and canals.

Powis castle at welshpool

Bridgnorth lovely town, market Sats and severn valley railway.

If you are into birds go to Lake Vyrnwy, about 25 miles where there are hides around teh lake and free parking.

Nearest dealers is Salop Leisure on the Shrewsbury Ironbridge Road . Excellent accessory shop helpful staff and an excellent coffee shop.
