Hi all, as per the title, an Alko heavy duty levelling leg managed to get bent backwards. Not by itself, think i had a little input Lol. I now have purchased and its just arrived, a new one from the nice people at Kenmore Caravans. they had two types on offer and before I attempt putting it on, i thought I would ask here what difference there is and what effect it would have? All dimentions are the same for both along side each other, apart from: the "push" leg is 2.5 cms shorter, the screw length is 3 Cms shorter and the "spike or nose" is 4 cms longer. I know a trial fit will determine any problem, but then returning it might not be possible? With a shorter
"push" leg, I reckon the leg might not go down quite as far maybe? Anyone please???

I changed one recently on my friends Swift but we ordered the part via the dealer and it was exactly the same
It doesn't seem worth fitting a new one unless its exactly the same unless they are no longer available of course
You could wind the new one down and compare its position relative to the undamaged old one on the caravan
Soak the bolts with penetrating oil to loosen them first as its easy to loosen the coach bolt head in the caravan floor and then wedging and foul language become needed
We had one that was seized solid and bent and had to be sawn off
The other one was removed by locking two nuts on the end of the thread while unscrewing the retaining bolt

Thanks for response. i already have the leg off the 'van, been trying to straighten it rather than buying a new one tbh. the "foot" being too twisted, I've bit the bullet and bought one! that'll teach me! ok, alongside each other they look the same when folded up, raise them up, and exactly the same height? So, tomorrow i'll fit and re-post in the hope that someone might need the same help.
