Best route to Lucksall

If you leave the M5 at Worcester the A4103 isn't the best of roads. Personally I would drive on down the M5 and join the M50 for South Wales at Strensham Services which is Junc. 8.

Exit the M50 at Junc. 2 signposted Ledbury and Hereford and turn right at the end of the exit lane.

On the Ledbury bypass follow the A438 signs for Hereford.

Stay on the A438 through Tarrington and about 3 miles the other side of Tarrington at Dormington there is a lefthand turn on a righthand bend signposted Dormington/Mordiford.

This road is unclassified but although a little bumpy it is wide enough.

As you come to the T junction in Mordiford turn left onto the B4224 and follow the road round to the right over a narrow bridge. Approxiamately in half a mile there's a turning right over the river bridge to Holme Lacy. Drive past this and Lucksall is a few hundred yards on the right.

Going the M50 route is a bit farther in mileage but not in time because the A4103 isn't the best and also going via Ledbury is more direct.

You can use Google Street View to check the junctions out and I see it's in 3D now.

Lord B. has given a good route from the M50. The alternative is to go to the end of the M50 at Ross and take the Ledbury road off the round-a-bout. Approx. 1.5 miles along take a left hand turn signposted Hereford. Lucksall is along this road approx. 6 miles on the left. Very nice quiet site and if you have a pitch next to the river can be very relaxing in the evening watching the wild life on the river. Can thoroughly recommend the site for peace and quietness.

Just booked a long weekend at Lucksall - May 13th. and now looking forward to it. Unfortunately our normal pitch is reserved so have to settle on another pitch overlooking the river. Still not to worry as we both like the site and the area.

Hi Chris.

I would go with LB's route myself the A4103 has a horendous hill to decend called Fromes hill. Very steep and would give brakes already warmed up by the twists and turns and smaller hills from Worcester, a real pounding on that hill. Also, if you catch Worcester by-pass at the wrong time, it can be as good as the M25!

Lucksall is a lovely park, good fishing there to be had.

Hope you have a good time.

Steve L.
