My boss received a letter from Helsingborg in Finland. Not somewhere we get post from often!

She opened it up and out dropped a card with a pile of Marks and Sparks vouchers( to spend here :).

She then found a very polite note from NOKIA, she had agreed for usage data on her mobile phone to be transmitted to them automatically by the phone to help there knowledge re how phones are used. As she gets a generous monthly data allowance the data transfer had cost her nothing but the lovely people at NOKIA sent £50 to cover any costs she may have incurred and to say thank you.

This site can't even manage to run to a new forum engine and no one from the magazine ever seems to pop by and say "HEY YOU LOT, what a really good bit of info that was".

They soon whine if it gets a bit heated here but wouldn't it be nice to get the odd thank you from the management and maybe a monthly prize of a subscription to the mag or a freebie caravanning prize that they've had in on test or even a few free nights at a site!

Even the GPS web site offers members a monthly prize.

It would be nice to get an old fashioned British thank you here now and again. If the Fins can manage it why not here?

ps

I exclude myself from any scheme should those above take the idea up :)

I agree with one of your points cris and that is the absence of any input whatsoever from the mag, I have always found this really quite bizarre. I regularly post on six forums with a very wide range of subjects and the others are very 'hands on' so to speak. Two of them even have forum sections for contacting the editor of the mag and in both cases the editor or assistant ed makes time to reply to the sensible points raised.

For instance one of the magazines recently changed its format. On the day of release the editor posted asking for feedback. Within twenty-four hours he had received a couple dozen replies mainly on the same point and so was able to promise this would be resolved next issue.
