On making a phone booking with CAMC by phone

It was suggested I look at the link at the “before you travel” section of their website.

I happened to click on Blackpool instead of Borrowdale. I was anazed to see this ….

To ensure the safety and security of all our guests and site team, we ask all guests wishing to pay with cash, to provide identification. Accepted forms of photo ID are a photo driving licence, ID card or passport. Alternatively a utility bill or bank statement with current address.

Can anyone explain cash discrimination? I often like to pay in cash, to try and preserve it,

There are a lot of illegal immigrants housed in Blackpool and there has been much trouble, most of it going unreported. Presumably the ID requirement is to ensure that they have proof of valid 'residents?'

From what I have seen on various caravan forums, this is not the only CAMC site requiring valid ID if paying cash.

Stops money laundering, and fake notes being offered. Or at least gives a trail to follow should it be needed. Plus cash needs banking and that takes time, costs money and banks are getting as rare as hens teeth. My local vape, ciggie and barbers are NO cards, cash only.

Businesses get charged by the Banks if they pay cash in as well!
Not entirely sure about that. I'm treasurer of our community hall which while a registered charity is also classed as a business as far as banking and utilities are concerned. I frequently pay in cash and have never been charged.
