I am fast losing the will to live.HIMSELF has taken the Jeep in for a heater repair to our main dealer knowing we would have to pay the extra for allowed hourly rate set by the warranty company.

The warranty people insisted upon sending an assessor to inspect the broken parts.OK we took that on board. Now the warranty company are refusing to pay as they say it is a"manufacturing fault".HIMSELF had already explained, prior to booking the car in,what the problem was, at at no point did anyone highlight the possibility of a manufacturing fault,The dealership are adamant that they have only had a few similar repairs to do and Jeep have not informed them of any faults.

I suppose we will just have to pay up and do less touring this year!!! Ah well it could be worse but it still rankles tho!!!

It is at times like this I feel old and vulnerable.BUT it wont last!!When my hip is completely healed I might get a job pulling trollies at Tesco!!!

it is a"manufacturing fault".

So why do you have to pay?

Surely either Jeep or the warranty co pick up the bill?

Anyway who needs a heater in all this glorious weather. LOL.

Dont take the dealers word for anything.

If you have met a brick wall with them, ask for the name and address of the MD of Jeep in the UK and write to him detailing your problem and ask him what he intends to do about it as it is a Manufacturing Fault and should not have happened.

Keep on at him for full reimbursement of any costs you have incurred.

Patience and continual reminding him, will produce results.

Woodlands Camper,it is the noise I made when gibbering with agitation!Just flick your finger up and down your bottom lip.Thats the way!!

I am on the case visa vie Jeep complaints dept.I have read on google EXACTLY the same story regarding WMS but in that case they wouldn't pay because it was classed as "wear and tear".Even tho most modern cars have diagnostics to identify faults the warranty company insist on the vehicle being stripped down prior to agreeing to pay.The lesson has been duly learned, keep your money in your pocket, cos no matter what, you will be paying anyway.

It is a good job I have a nice new hip in case I need to kick someone into touch!!!!

Thank you for the explicit explanation. It also rhymes with dribble if you keep the bottom lip down too long ;-)

I am assuming your jeep is out of warranty and you have taken out a warranty with a separate company. I'm afraid I don't trust any of these warranty companies. I did have one 18 years ago and when my air con failed they refused to pay. I'm a bit wiser now though and I would have pursued it. If they are rejecting 'war and tear' and also 'manufacturing fault', what's left?

Write them a stiff letter and threaten trading standards. Give TS a call anyway.

I have just checked for you (if this is your policy) and I see that 'heater elements' are excluded from the warranty (and so is by air con).
