Black Knowl CC Site, New Forest

We have just tried to book a week at Black Knowl in May/June, only to find we can't book a 7 day holiday, as every weekend has been booked.

A Warden on a site we once went to told us that some people book up several sites at the same time and if the weather is better at one site, then they take that and cancel the others. I couldn't believe what she was telling me, but maybe that's what happens.

I believe that used to happen but I thought that the new computerised booking system prevented members from double or triple booking different sites for the same nights. Don't know how that wouild work for non- memebers though.

This type of thing with weekends full and mid-week vacancies only seems to be happening a lot with the C.C.just now, quite a few people are commenting about it. I'm sure I read a post about same thing at Rowntree Park in York.

Don't know what the answer is though. Perhaps a percentage of pitches with minimum number of nights booking?
