Hi.
Have just noticed that one of our flyscreens seems to have black marks within the mesh.(could possibly be mould or similar).
Its the middle flyscreen at the front of the van.
Any suggestions for cleaning this please as I dont want to spray anything on it incase I ruin the flyscreen.
Many thanks,Adrian

Hi we had similar on fly screens once and was easy enough to clean although a 2 person job, I opened the window wide then put fly screen down, I stood outside and held something against the fly screen, can't remember what but something flat then my wife just used a damp soft sponge with a little washing up liquid in the water and she sponged it from the inside and we were amazed at how easy it was to clean and also the difference it made, ended up doing them all even tho didn't look dirty and looked like new blinds, just treat them gentle and should be fine, the reason for holding something up on outside is just to give you something to rub against and stop the blind pushing out, dead easy honestly.

We used Dettol Mould and Mildew Remover which we purchased in a supermarket. Most of the black marks went at the time, but the remover carried on working afterwards and there are none to be seen now. I think it was probably 18 months ago we used it, no damage at all to fly screen.

We also used the Dettol product. We removed the flyscreen from the guide and rolled it up around the rigid part of the screen. A clothes peg held it in position while we sprayed the mould remover on and left it to work for a few minutes. A rinse in clean water finished the job.
