Blackpool South and Southport? which is Better......

Interested in going later in the year to the North West - which of these two (CC Sites) is better Blackpool South and Southport?

Hi. Monkey,

we have stayed on both of these sites and both are very good,however, blackpool south is a bit out of town and parking in blackpool is a bit tough.

southport site however is only a 5-10 minute walk from the town centre and the town is lovely, a good shopping centre with lots of unusual shops. The main street (Lord Street) is almost victorian style and defineately our preference it means her indoors can go shopping on her own and I can sit in the van and enjoy a bit of peace

Hvae to say Southport is better as I live here !!!

As towns I think they are pretty equal with things to do though southport is a bit "older" generation wise.

CC site no competition, Southport, deffo.. Blackpool you have to drive to get to the town whereas above post correctly says you can walk anywhere from the Southport site.Also big electric pylons at Blackpool,no tv signal

OMG that was a panic!!!

We had booked to stay at Blackpool South on the 2nd July for a few days - just cancelled and re-booked at Southport.
