Blocked Sink - any ideas welcome!

Hello all

Got a problem with our sink in our old (1996) Elddis Vogue. Its the flip-up type and we have had 2 occasions where it has become blocked. Have cleared out all the pipes under the van, tried Mr Muscle etc, tried flexible wire rods to free any blockage, but nothing helps. In the end, took off he whole panel (one hell of a task!) and undid a funnel-type thing and all the water that had built up came out. All seemed ok, now its blocked again. Dont understand it - we only use it with water & the odd bit of toothpaste, so not sure what's clogging it (had thought it was hardened toothpaste, but thought Mr Muscle would have sorted that).

Does anyone have any ideas? Really grateful for any!

had the same problem with ABI had to change some of the piping.

if there is a better way maybe somebody will let us know.

Hi All,

We had one of those tip-up sinks in one of our caravans -Avondale Orestes I think - and on our first trip with it found the water drainage was very sluggish. Eventually I removed the sink and found the remains of five bars of soap blocking the outlet!

Rob - how did you het the sink off? (Our one seems to be in two parts, but I wasnt sure if i could (or should) unseal them)?

I had the same problem years ago and that was soap,on mine the was on two 'pins' which it pivoted on and if you squeezed by the pins it would pop out refitting by reversal.

Little tip - once you've sorted the blocked. Don't use hard soap use liquid hand/face wash, you won't get the scum round the bowl either. Imperial Leather have just bought a liquid out that does both face and hands - and it's got a nice smell!
