We are there again in July

Must not tell to many how good it is else it will be full.

Lots of walks from Hawes, no need to use the car. Butchers, pubs, food shops, restaurants, chippie in Hawes just a stroll away. Plenty to do and the Dales is a great area.Site usual CC standard.

Most importand is a trip to the "Wensleydale Creamery Hawes" Wallace of Wallace & Gromits favourite day out ;-)

The Curse of the Were-Rabbit has to be one of the top films ever, its just a pity they don't make big "SMUG" fridges for caravans to fit all the cheese in ;-)

The museum at the old railway station - you will cross the railway bridge as you approach the site - is worth a visit. Helps you to understand what some of the features in the surrounding area are all about. And yes - go for the cheese !

Lovely site with easy walk into Hawes. Good few pubs some of which serve nice meals. Cheese makers is well worth a visit to stock up on fresh produce. A few miles up the road towards Leyburn there is the candle makers which we always visit to get some of the best candles I have seen. En route you might be lucky enough to see the jets doing exercises overhead which I love (bit sad really)! Beautiful area with loads of good walks and drives.

All the previous posts sum up Hawes, its a grand place and if you like walking part of the Pennine way is not far off.

One word of warning, take your wet gear as with Hawes being between the East and West Coasts I always seem to get bad weather when I go. Iam going in April so don't forget Those April Showers. Seriously though a grand place to stay awhile.

Isn't Tewkesbury Abbey a little far from Hawes Marie?

David - grand shots of the way into Brownmoor, I am revisiting in April and know the site well. From here if you are a walker walk till your feet ache, and your feet will still ache going on the numerous car outings along wensleydale and its neighbouring valleys.
