So the caravan we are buying has a bulkhead regulator with a threaded fitting to the bottles, but all our bottles take a push fit regulator, how do I get the bottles to work? we have 3 full bottles and dont want to waste all the gas and also our supplier doesn't do the threaded versions, is there an adaptor or something we can get?

sounds like you need a new "pigtail " from the regulator to the correct termination for your gas bottles.
If you are buying from a dealer they should know what you need, if not there are several on line sellers

I think Butane is push fit and Propane is threaded. Butane may not be good to use in the winter when temperature gets down to about 4C, but no issue in the summer.

Propane gaslight are push on,but not the same as butane push on IIRC. just to add to the confusion

Taking a side step, not the question you asked but may help you.

The 6kg calor propane tanks were "discontinued" by calor, but the last month have started supplying them again. My local supplier couldn't get them but I picked up a new 6kg calor bottle last week. May be worth re checking with your local suppliers if they can get the calor propane. Unless you already have the gaslight bottles in which case probably cheaper to convert.

All you need is an adaptor for the particular cylinder you are using no need to change the pigtail each time. When Calor cylinders were difficult to obtain in particular sizes I acquired several both butane and propane in different sizes. I currently have a POL male pigtail which fits the 3.9 and 6 kg propane cylinders and use a adaptor for the equivalent butane cylinders.

Just a word of warning. The internet has been flooded with cheap unapproved gas fittings and adaptors. Apparently some of these do not have quite the correct threads, and will not tighten properly, and some have various "rubber" seals which are not suitable for use with LPG. LPG will dissolve some rubbers and plastics.

I strongly advise that you only buy adaptors or any gas fittings from approved gas dealers, and not from dubious online sellers.

Thanks guys, I'm just hoping there's a fitting for it, have mentioned it to the caravan sales so fingers crossed.
If you take a look at this site it will give you an idea of the Pigtails that are available off the shelf, I bought a spare, so that in the event we ran out of Calor propane (POL fitting) we can run off a Campingaz cylinder :

As they are high pressure hoses they should be marked EN 16436-1 Class 3
