Caravan sold.
Won't be missing out on holidays though already have 7 booked starting Saturday until July 2024, with more to book.
Being on my own now did try caravan for the last 2 years, but it was a bit too much with setting up and packing up, So both daughters plus granddaughter said come with us so that is what I am going to do.
It is strange going outside back door and having caravans there for the last 45 years not seeing one now is strange.
I will not be giving up on here, will still pop in from time to time.

Possibly a small campervan would suit you, but sorry here you are going.

Enjoy your new style of life without the van , I must admit I think it will be only another couple of years before we end up selling ours.

Everyone's life moves on and circumstances change. I am sure you had many happy times with your caravan. Now its time to look forward to some different, but just as happy, times with your family.

Never look back, always look forward, because that's where new and exciting experiences await you.

Thanks for all your replies.
Yes very good memories from 45 years of caravaning as a family and then just the both of us, but sadly now only myself.
We also used to do coach holidays in the past, now it is to be coach and cottages. only problem with some coach holidays hotels charge a single supplement up to £25 night .

We all come to times when a change is required, the key thing is to recognise that time. My wife enjoys her coach holidays with our daughter and even when we had a caravan we would regularly hire a cottage or go on a small group tour. I’m sure you will enjoy your new holidays , and never have to worry about damp again.

Last year done three caravan and one coach and still not decided to pack up, so off once more by coach and two caravan ones to finally make my mind up, so after59 years camping will it come to an end?. Wife passed away last June.

Perhaps you might stay with the coach-caravan combination longer than you think. 👍

Enjoy both choices of holidays as long as you wish to

Sorry to hear of your loss. Before you decide on anything, think long and hard - and don't make the same mistake as I did. In 2011 my wife died during our three-month winter stay in Southern Spain. After I eventually got settled back at home, I took the decision to sell the caravan and all the equipment. But as the summer wore on, I began to realize what a big mistake I'd made. I started all over again and bought my present caravan. By the end of the year, I was ready to go back to Spain for four months, which I did every winter right up till Covid came along. Now, at 93, I content myself with 10-day caravan tours around the UK. My plans are already taking shape for the coming summer.

My stepfather is approaching 90 and my mum is 77, they’re just preparing the caravan for this years touring. Age is just a number, your body tends to tell you when it’s time to stop doing something rather than the number of candles on a cake. :)

Thanks folks have already done one week with weather to match Snowdonia, weeks time south Wales. Four coach and 2 cottages are booked between now and next July; there is still more to book.

Trevor
Glad to see you have so many adventures planned and that the fates have many happy times ahead for you.

Agree with this statement and hope that he can continue for as long as possible, with many healthy years to come.

All remarks true ,also have COPD and just come back from Inversnaisd for a week by coach. The conversation by many is where you been and going to next and so on . As said previous am off using caravan in April and May and booked further coach for Ardgarten Scotland in November. Got numb bum for1400 miles at moment.
