Had a lovely few days at this campsite.

The site has easy access, there is a security barrier, pull up and go to reception. There is also cctv in operation.

Pitches are over two large, level, well kept square fields. Pitches are spacious. Trees and or hedges surround the perimeter of the fields.

There is a toilet/shower block and washing up area (under cover). The toilets and showers were immaculate and the water was constant and hot.

There is a small information hut which also has a large fridge freezer and microwave (for use of campers). There are also magazines and even some wine glasses for campers use! The site also kindly provides bbq's too which I thought was a great idea.

There is a well signed fire assembly point and even a press bell in the middle of the caravan field. I was tempted to try that out but thought, best not.

The owners were really nice, helpful and friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcome and from the site, you can walk your dogs over a long distance through open countryside.

For the night time, we used a local taxi service which was reasonably priced. There is also a brilliant Indian restaurant in Dymchurch (five course dinner for £11). One of the best curries I've ever had.

Well worth a visit, we'll be going back. Pics to follow.

The surrounding beaches are worth visiting too. Camber now has a small selection of restaurants and bars. The beach at Camber is sandy and great for small children.

I took this photo at Greatstone.

Hi George

Yes, we went to see Doris and Kate on the Saturday night. The pub was just the same. LOL! It was lovely to see them again, they let us take my little Gaylord in the pub too. OMG, I had some local cider, I had to dilute it with lemonade after the first half 7.5%. The problem was it was absolutely delicious and didn't taste strong at all.

We had a breakfast in Lydd each morning, at the cafe which used to be the bakery near the rype. Very impressed with the service and food. Couldn't believe the ironmongers, Lyons and Mittles are still there, although I'm glad they are and haven't been taken over.

Interested to see Southlands is now an Academy. Another thing I was impressed with, we went to Sandgate which is one of my most favourite places, because of the view. We managed to park up and then drive up to the car park which WAS FREE. Unheard of in most places.

Take care.

Nice pics Lisa - looks like a good site. Whats the site / area like for kids (ours are 11 and 9). Never really been to Kent before other than to get the ferry from Dover.

Thanks, Martin.
