Caravan battery dead or faulty Selmar charger?

My van's 110v leisure battery (3/4 yrs old) has been at home connected pretty well continuously for 2 months to a Selmar automatic charger. It has been showing green charging level lights but I noticed recently that the only lights illuminated on the charger are the ones that indicate that the charger is connected to the mains and that one that shows charger's crocodile clips are connected to the battery terminals. So, there seems to be something wrong.
How can I tell which might be at fault ; the battery or the charger or which is most likely?
Thanks.
G.

have you tried hooking the charger up to your car battery for a couple of minutes to see what happens?

does the charger have an output fuse which may have blown if the battery was seriously discharged when hooked up to the charger.

failing that measure the voltage across the battery with the charger switched on and off. if there's no difference then there's a problem with the charger. unfortunately you need some fairly specific test gear to check the charger properly.

the battery cells seem dry? completely?

does your charger have an automatic shut off? or have you spent the last two months boiling the electrolyte off?

sounds like you need a battery.
