National Motor Museum has just put up an on-line exhibition devoted to the Caravan Club Road rallies of the 1960s and early 70s.
National Motor Museum
A fascinating glimpse at the past before the nanny state took over and stopped it all. In the later years there were 'works' teams with well known rally drivers at the wheel, best known perhaps the late Pat Moss- Carlson.
I have to confess to being flattered that my modest contribution and some of my photgraphs have been used and I look back with fond memories to my outfit of the time Volvo 122 and Eccles Topaz 2 berth, and excellent van apart from the main door coming right to the bottom of the awning rail and thus effectively preventing any slope away from the van of the awning roof.
