Hi Jim, we have had a specialised accessories cover for 2 years for our senator oklahoma, we had no problems at all, we are waiting for our new Hymer nova to be delivered and we have ordered a protec cover for it.

We don't think there is much to choose between them, they can be a bit awkward to fit, but we think they are well worth the trouble! best wishes andrew.

There have ben comments both for and against covers in this Forum. I personally have a Protec cover and am happy with it, but I know others feel that they can cause scratching of both paintwork and windows. It is really down to personal choice, and the air quality where you store the van. If you are close to a heavy industrial area then you could have problems.

Personally i wouldnt waste your money. i bought a Speciallised accs one two years ago. I used it last winter but have not bothered this year. first of all it will not keep your van dry as mine was permantly wet between the van and the cover and its such a pain fitting and taking off. Before you fit it you must thoroughly clean your van and to be fair when Spring comes around and you take the cover off you have a nice clean van and no doubt a wet cover to store. Its simply easier doing the cleaning in Spring than in Autumn. Spend your money on something worthwhile, or if you have a van the same size as my Eccles Moonstone make me an offer!

Davy,

Sorry yours was such a disappointment. I am surprised that you had water ingress, which is something I have not experienced in 2 years of use. I am also curious at the time you evidently required to fit it, mine slides on in about 2 minutes and then it is just a case of tightening the straps.

One thing I have noticed on the vans in my storage area that don't have them, is a tendency to have greenish mould developing, and yes, I know you can clean it off. But I also wonder about the fading of the paintwork in the light. Maybe a small thing, but I feel if I can preserve the 'pristine' condition just that bit longer then it is worth it. Taking the cover off is a bit like opening a Xmas present, a lot of fun.

At the end of the day it is up to you.

Sorry, took a while to see the message. My cover is a Protec one, this is the 2nd one of their's I have bought as I changed the van. However, I suspect the material is pretty similar from most of the main manufacturers. Ironically, for both vans i had to do the measuring as they are 'imported' vans, so maybe I got the sizing right as they both fitted perfectly, or I am just a dab hand with a mesuring tape??
