Caravan seats too firm for sleeping.

We're finding our caravan seats too firm for sleeping comfortably and are thinking of getting some foam to lay over the top of the bed, as advertised in caravan magazines.

Has anyone has had the same problem and solved it by doing this? If so, and you would recommend a company that does this, please tell us.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi,

We had the same problem and solved it with some memory foam - There is a company that advertises in the magazines for custom made caravan bed toppers - but we just got a double size bit from ebay (2inch deep) for

We bought two extra sleeping bags, the thickest available, just to use under the bags we sleep in. It is very comfortable. We used to take extra duvet for underneath on the double bed, but now we use two bunks we have found this to be very good.

We did think about memory foam, but were concerned about daytime storage.

Pauline,

Have a look at www.tradepriced.co.uk/caravan_mattress.html .

Not tried them as yet so cannot report good or bad - if you do before us do let us know.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We have tried extra quilts on top of the seat cushions, which do help, but find they're bulky and take up too much storage space. We'll probably resort to getting memory foam toppers, even though they are expensive.

Reading further through topics, I found that David posted a topic re Bed Toppers on page 6.
