Hello all, we're new to caravanning and were wondering if without joining one of the clubs and getting a directory, are there any online directory/websites which list touring caravan sites please?

There's a few but it's worth noting that both clubs also list sites in their directories that aren't owned by them. Try the Best of British site but I'd also consider joining the clubs, even just for a year to get access to the site network.

They both cover the full range of sites covering all prices and facilities

If you use Google maps, go to an area and type in "Caravan Sites" and you will get the sites and internet links to the chosen ones.

If you find a site you like the look of, but you have any unanswered questions, most sites will have a website, but they should also have a telephone number, call them to see if you can get the information you want.

I find the search facility poor - you can't search for hard-standings or EHUs - so no wonder it inundates you with volumes of sites

When doing search we filter for sites that show fully serviced pitches with water and drainage connections.

I think it might already have been said but Google Maps is a useful tool if you have a particular place in mind - for example search ‘campsites near xxxxx’ and it will show on map which can be clicked for links or a list on left of screen to scroll through.. Also useful to rehearse the driving approach on street view!
