Does anyone have any info on caravan sites in and around Berlin. We will be travelling in mid-June - 2 adults and a 7m long single axle caravan. Preferably easy to get to and close to public transport to Berlin.

In 2005 we stayed at Camping Sanssouci-Guisberg (www.camping-potsdam.de) in Potsdam and were very impressed with the site. The site is situated on the banks of the Havel, the pitches are relatively large, shaded, with many fully serviced. English speaking and helpful staff in reception with small shop and of course the obligatory bar! Good facilities for children. Supermarkets (Lidle, Necca & Aldi) approx 3 kms away. Courtesy minibus from/to the to local train station or tram station (Pirschheide - very run down, but transport typically German efficient and clean). Catch train/tram into Potsdam and then express into Berlin Zoo main station in centre of Berlin. Total transit time 40 mins approx. Very easy and efficient. If staying for a few days consider buying "weekly" travel ticket which also covers all the bus and underground transport in Berlin. Ask if you have any questions.

Pleased to read the positive opinions on Camping Sanssouci-Guisberg. We plan to spend about 10 days there in late June as part of our 3-month German tour :)

The DIN headquarters are in Berlin - just a short walk from Zoologischer Bahn - and we had a CEN meeting in their facilities.

In the evening we all took a scenic bus tour from "bahnhof zoo", past Bellevue, Reichstag, Unter der Linden, Marienkirche, Berliner Rathaus, etc. and had a great evening meal (and a few beers) in the cellar of an inn off Rathausstrasse.

And - the bus tour was courtesy of the S100 city bus - instead of buying the official tour - get a bus pass and take the S100 bus. It goes to the same places.
