Could anyone advice me if it is possible to lower the suspension on a caravan by the shocks or another method. I need to lose about an inch in height for clearance purposes. Thank you

I wouldn't have thought you could lower the suspension, and I don't expect you would want to due to the low ground clearance in any case, especially speed bumps. You could however do what lorry drivers do on low bridges is let the tyres down, go under the obstruction and then pump the tyres up again. Also, does the van have an aerial which could be removed and use an external one on pole instead?

Hello Jayne,
Almost anything is possible, but whether its practical, sensible or cost effective is another matter. Unlike car suspension systems there is no real scope to adust the suspension on modern caravans. You would run into other problems with tyre clearances on the wheel arches, and possible grounding issues when towing.
Reducuing tyre pressure is an option, but not very convenient.
Is ther any possibility the ground under the height restriction could be lowered, I suspect the cost doing that woudl be significantly less than trying to reengineer the caravan chassis and maintaining safety and resale values.
