Just returned from 4 nights here. As well as climbing Black Rocks we also spent a day at the tram museum. The site is near Ashbourne in Derbyshire. All for £9 a night. Thanks to Derbyshire DA fro organising the temporary holiday site. Ah, thought that was cheap as I was understanding it to be Carsington Water CAMC.

Tramway museum OK, but you should have tried the Barley Mow at Kirk Ireton, its unique.

Thanks for the report.

The DA and THS offer excellent value and are well worth making use of providing you are able to cope with basic facilities.

It does not look like the CAMH site as no trees in the photo. Looks good value but I assume you have to live without a hook up.

No, its def not Carsington CAMC (Blackwall Plantation as was). I only assumed that from the title before I read it. That particular field is just around the corner for from the Knockerdown. We only live a couple of miles from there.

A lovely view, doesn't replace a pub within half a mile. For myself.

Knockerdown is not on my xmas card list. I cant post the reasons, but I can recommend the Barley Mow at Kirk Ireton and Red Lion at Kniveton, BM for being unique, Red Lion for being a friendly pub. Also very near and decent is the Black Horse at Hulland Ward.
