On our new to us 1999 Lunar Clubman we have the MKIII filter system. I have been advised that it is better to upgrade to the newer MKIV system as the filters for the MKIII are no longer available. Cost is about £50 for the upgrade kit however what i woud like to know is how easy is it to fit?
Secondly for some bizzare reason Lunar have the dish waste water outlet on the side of the caravan about 4 -5 foot from the rear end and the wash basin and shower outlets on the rear of the caravan. Is it possible to move the dishwater outlet to the rear or maybe even re-route the dish water waste pipe so that it connects up with the wash basin waste water?
Thanks.

I replaced the old carver crystal inlet with the truma ultraflow on my 1996 Lunar Planet Eclipse a couple of weeks ago, got the conversion kit in from www.leisureshopdirect.com which includes a replacement pistol grip connector for the aquaroll piping and it took about an hour to fit. The only issues are that the new inlet is larger than the old but fits in the same hole, you just need to drill new screwholes and the kit doesn't come with a non-return valve so you would need to buy one of them too - you need to make sure you get the correct one for either flexible or semi-rigid piping.

However, if your existing inlet is not broken (I replaced mine as it developed a leak), you can get replacement filters from anywhere.

No you cannot.
The Mk III was discontinued years ago and no filters are available easily.
There are plenty of Mk II filters, but they are a totally different shape.

As we have only recently purchased the caravan from a reputable dealer I will try and see if they will not replace the housing for me as they must be well aware that the filters have not been available for quite some time. I am sure that air is getting into the system somewhere as when using the mixer taps when showering the water temperature flucutates between boiling hot and freezing cold as it tens to come out in spurts even after three barrels of water have been used.

Any suggestions on the wast outlet locations? Thanks.

Contacted the dealer who wants to charge me to fit the upgraded part as the MKII which repalced the MKIII is no longer available. Once the filter is finished after 30 days usage according to the manual we have no water in the caravan unless we pay for the upgrade as we cannot repalce the filter.
As the caravan is has not been with us for a week I will be giving them the option of replacing it at their expense or as per Sale of Goods Act or rejecting the caravan as wherever goods are bought they must "conform to contract". This means they must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality (i.e. not inherently faulty at the time of sale). Goods are of satisfactory quality if they reach the standard that a reasonable person would regard as satisfactory, taking into account the price and any description. Aspects of quality include fitness for purpose, freedom from minor defects, appearance and finish, durability and safety.
