Well we've just had our statemnet and found a transfer correction debit of £270.

I rang Frizzell first thing this morning, they were very polite and the young man went away to check what it was for.

I tend to to pay off what I've bought very regular, so there is always two pages, unfortunately I didn't check my statement thoroughly last time.

Apparently this money was credited to my account at the beginning of December.

Do I have to pay it back as the mistake was thiers or not? Is there anyone who knows?

If I have to pay I'll pay it just means that I now have to back track 3 months worth of statements to see if there right. What a task.

It's difficult to offer any constructive comment without seeing statements. Mistakes do happen.

Do answer your question "do I have to pay it back as the mistake was theirs?" - let me ask you another question:

If you mistakenly overpaid your credit card bill by

Sorry, would love to support the under dog but 'NOT A CHANCE'

Now if you were charged interest on that Money. Well thats a whole new ball game.

Mike Ps point is totaly valad.

The test is 'are you in any way out of pocket by virtue of their mistake?

If the answer is yes you have a case. If no then the answer is no.

Thanks guys, you've confirmed what I thought. It was a bit of a shock seeing that much, not exactly a small amount especially when I've not bugeted for it.
