Hi all. It has been some time since I have been on the forum. I got some excellant reccomendations for a nice area of English countryside to visit from all you guys a cuple of years back and I enjoyed two summer holidays in the Cotswalds due to them. Now I want to venture further south. Can anyone reccomend a CC site for the south coast or the south west coast? Thanks. Andy.

Hi Andy, We had a great time at Trewethett farm cc last summer right on the top of the cliffs between Tintagel & Boscastle on Cornwalls north coast, on the south coast of cornwall Looe cc is nice but does get very busy . Devon is nice don,t know much about cc sites in that area but can highly reccomend Ross park at Ipplepen near Newton Abbot ,very handy for Torbay or Dartmoor and the park is of a very high standard, check their website at www.rossparkcaravanpark.co.uk , hope this helps.

Thanks for the advice. I will check them all out. I have a 3 year old girl, perhaps I should have mentioned that. I loved the Cotswolds, we were based in Cirencester which is a good sized town but we never had far to go to beautiful countryside and villages. Something similar would be great! A nice town to be based at and countryside all around.

How about Winchester (ancient capital of country). CC site (Morn Hill) approx 2 miles outside of city and surrounded by countryside. Plenty to see and do. New Forest approx 40 mins drive to west, Salisbury Plain etc 40 mins drive to north, coast/Portsmouth/Southsea approx 40 mins drive south.

Hi Andy

If you want to venture into Cornwall I can reccomend the CC site at Treamble valley, between Newquay & Perranporth. The beaches in this area are second to none in the Uk and there is plenty to do in the area for both yourself and your daughter.

CC site is up to if not better than usual CC standards and it has an adventure playground for the kids but a 3 yr old may be a bit small for this without supervision. Holywell Bay (about 3 mile away) has a adventure park which caters for children of all ages, then there is Lands End and many other similar places.

However, other than parking charges, the beach's cannot be beaten for your little one, the only problem is which one to choose, try a different one each day.

Alan
