hi i am looking for info on how to get a charger for a idm2 alarm made by cec plug in systems i have the instruction leaflet but there is no power at the keypad any info would be much appreciated harry scotland
As terry says screwfix are good for cheap lead acid alarm batteries. I have noticed now though that our local Tool Station shop is cheaper, both provide catalogues and good value for a lot of products.
i remember having a few poblems withh my idm2, in 1979, the dealer ended up wiring a supply link to the van battery, never needed to charge it after that, the charging socket, and charger are not very good.
We have an idm 2 on our old Senator. The Lead Acid batteries need a regualr charge or they do not last, it ieasy to open the alarm box and repalvce the battery.
The battery charger has 230V ac Input, Output voltage 14.5 volt DC and Output Current - 120 mA (Max) and a standard looking jack plug with positive centre hole contact and negative outer contact that plugs in to the front of the control panel for charging the battery that is located in a hidden location elsewhere in a black box housing the Siren.
It's not a lot of good having it wired to the caravan battery, if the battery goes flat or a thief disconnected it the alarm would not work independently! (
