challenger 520 stability !

We tow a swift challenger 520 2005 modle with a disco and we are experiancing a lot of snaking. we have towed for many years and have never had a problem, as far as we can see the only differance we have is an al-ko 3004 stabiliser has any one got any info for us.HELP!

Check:

1. Tyre Pressures.

2. Noseweight.

3. Load distribution, especially fore & aft. Too much weight to the rear will induce snaking.

4. Pressure of car rear tyres.

Chris, the one area where I don't think you will find the answer to your problem is the alko stabilser, this is a reliable and effective piece of kit. Your problem will probably lie in one of the four points Rod has mentioned but it could also be worth checking the height of your towball, this can be an issue when some towbars are fitted to disco's. how about the car rear shock absorbers? Also its not unknown for caravan shock absorbers to jamb solid due to lack of use and rust. Probably not applicable in this case as it's a new caravan.
