Changing kitchen sink tap

I need to replace the kitchen sink tap on my Lunar LX2000. I have tried today to get the old one off so I can take it to the shop to make sure I get the right one.

Problem is I cant see how the pipes are fixed onto the tap. It would appear they are just pushed in? Anyone know?

Thanks in advance

hi Martyn

I could be talking utter tosh here but what you describe sounds similar to a compressed air push fit coupling. Have a look where the pipe enters the tap unit, check to see if there is a collar on the outermost edge where the pipe enters, if so push this in the same direction as if you were fitting the hose, it might only move 1 or 2mm but that will be enough to release the grip on the hose pipe.

Worth a try

Brian-bear is spot on if the tap is a recent Whale mixer. Although they can be adapted for various fittings the standard is a push fit type.
