Watched the programme last night, pleasantly surprised at the positive coverage, not too much detail, but better than a lot of caravan related tv, managed to watch it all the way through. Second episode airs tonight.

TBH they seem to cover many aspects to try and satisfy everyone so not a bad show. We did whizz through the sections of motorhomes, tents and hiking in Scotland.
The blow up stuff like the thing with two round seats was a joke as only good for big dogs. The lounge suite did not look too bad, but would need a full awning to enjoy.
They showed the CAMC site at Brighton however Brighton beach is definitely and area we would not bother with visiting even if offered free accommodation as prefer sandy beaches and not rocks. LOL! :D
If part 2 is as good as Part 1 then worth watching.

It looked re4asonably interesting but they did go for some sensationalism particularly with the initial very expensive motorhomes and talk about the million pound statics. Possibly not a lot of use to people looking for information rather than entertainment.

Thought it was being done by persons who are new to normal camping or not at all .How many persons serious about buying expensive m/h at those shown . Nothing like the persons who use to do it many years , they use to show you the good and not so good parts which is interesting. I turned it off before the end but will take a look tonight just to see if it is worth looking at.

I doubt very much if either of those presenters have ever used a tent or a caravan as they were over awed by the really expensive models which the majority of us can only dream about.

I met a very nice couple in France who were touring in A Huge Motorhome, probably about £100k, and when talking about sites, in the UK, they suddenly said oh we have a waterside Holiday home near Huntingdon, haven't been to it for a couple of years. I checked up on the location and the cheapest one was £75k.

So there are folk out there that can afford these big priced units.

I quite enjoyed it too, eye-watering sums of money though.

The way I look at it , is if I were a millionaire I would not waste my time going to a show, but would go straight to the dealership. Then again if you were a millionaire you probably wouldn't be camping. LOL! :D

I thought the expert camper would have more input but he just nodded to all remarks made by the presenter. Rest was like showing the general public what camping is available . The lady showing what she cooks got my attention so much I recorded it for my wife.

I thought it was fine. Not high quality TV but did it’s job much better than a lot of predecessors. I was impressed by the disabled lady, what they had done to the caravan and what they did with it. A lesson for all of us to make best of what we have.

A bit disappointed at last nights show, as the presentation was as entertainment rather than useful. A quick look at three of the most expensive caravans on the market, would not help anyone starting out, and the presentation was so basic it would not help even anyone looking at them. It gave the impression that the different layouts were because the different makers used these and not that they were generally available in each of the different makers ranges so was misleading.
To be useful to most a longer look at the likes of say the Sprite and Phoenix ranges would have been better to help those looking to get into caravans or at least something covering the different levels. The motorhome bits were equally useless though, and the other things including how to use space or use a motorhome for paddle boarding just did not work for me. It was a quart into a pint pot job and failed at almost all levels.
The best thing was possibly to show that the pastime was good, although because of the subjects they chose they often made it look expensive

Well to be honest Ray once you get caught up in caravans it is quite expensive. A friend has rented a static for 4 days /nights in Cleethorpes ,6 birth inc gas and electricity for £60 . That wouldn't pay your ground rent on many caravan sites these days. Camping may still be cheap of course.

The second programme was better than the first, and at least the programme makers didn't poke fun at caravanners or blame us for traffic hold ups, which has been the case in the past.
There was little detail, but the section of the programme which dealt with caravans did at least mention the availability of caravan servicing, towing courses, disabled caravanning and campsite cookery.
The programme may arouse some interest in caravans etc, and even though no entry level models were featured, the presenters tried to give an impression of modern day caravans

I think the biggest issue was that they seem to focus on high end caravans costing up to or more than £40k. There should have been more emphasis on budget and mid range caravans that are more affordable for folk in general.

I think a TV show on something like a , errr show is very difficult-for those that already do it they are only going to scratch the surface and not feed them with what they want-for those that don't an over view of extremes is maybe a good start-after all they did tents, trailer tents, caravans and crazy priced motorhomes that people live in. So in all a great programme in my opinion and am just glad caravans got on tv as there#s no way we could get.

Statics on holiday parks can be cheap in low or mid season. I’m looking for two nights camping mid May, grass no electric, showers, loos etc for around £8 pn on near to Duxford to visit the IWM. Currently ccc look the lowest price , but a nearby CS is twice the price per night. Although the CS has more ambience and is cosier. Not made my mind up yet but at £1.50 per litre the difference of £16 for two nights pitching is hardly a deal breaker.
