hi when im hooked up to the mains on a site does the caravan battery get a trickle charge. the problem i have is when i last used the van i only noticed that the battery reading indicator was zero.it was fine last time out so possibly weve left a light on. the caravan is a 93 ish swift challenger 510. is there anything between the mains feed and the battery which i can check to see if its blown/packed in which would stop trickle charging many thanks steve

When connected to the mains your battery should charge as long as the charger is switched on,

Easy way to check, use a multimeter and measure the battery voltage at the battery terminals before you plug in, plug in and then recheck the voltage.

Before power is applied it should read around 12.6v down to 0 if discharged badly.

With power on to the van there should be around 13.8v at the terminals.

Usual suspects for draining batteries:

Status aerial booster left on

Fan on fire left on

Fridge left in On mode with door open

Radio with memory

Alarm
