Hi,

I have a Lunar Chateau 470 part of the Tirus Group that went into liquidation. Trying to find out a bit about the build spec, type of sides/roof construction. Is the roof the bonded German type construction or the uk type construction. Does antone know any details?

I also have a caravan made by Tirus, but not a Chateau. I cannot give you any serious technical information other than the vans are made to a high standard. Depending on how old your van is, it probably has a stippled aluminium side panel arrangement which was very common in Europe, but not popular here for some reason. However, it is easier to replace than the ABS panels common in UK vans. Most of the equipment comes from standard suppliers and so is as good as anybody's. The roof is usually a one piece aluminium panel sealed with mastic at the sides as normal. Front panels are usually ABS plastic.

Not sure what else you are looking for. If you are having doubts about the van then I would suggest forget them. The van is a good piece of kit and if looked after, will give years of service. So, the manufacturer is bust. Well so are a lot of UK ones, and more will follow so you are in good company.
