Real problem - love the car

New van Lunar 475CK Ex works 1040 KG - Max permis load 1270 KG

Now comes the rub Mnftrs. max towing limit 1000kg

2.0 HDI auto estate 1300kg

Subsequent Models 1500KG

Handbook states that the Max towing weight can be increased to 1300kg providing the Max train weight not exceeded (not a Problem) am told the police will ignore this and go only on the "plates" and that it will invalidate car insurance in event of a claim - can anyone urgently explaine the anomaly as Citroen can't and without being rude suggest a solution - I am reluctant to give up what is an excellent vehicle

Some van manufacturers will replate a van and issue a new tally plate and documents. I have just hada Bailey Pageant go from 1366kg to 1400kg. It means that the new mover now carries no penalty over the load I can carry. It will all depend on the other vans in that range which may be haevier and thus allow you to replate. It cots me
