After our appalling summer, you will have noticed that `global warming` has become `climate change`, and now the tree huggers are moving into overdrive.
For instance, to meet Tory Blurs levels of green house gas reduction by 2010, we should increase the number of windfarms in Yorkshire from the current four to 210!!!.
Each of these windfarms would need turbines 150 metres tall (3x the current height), and would between them cover an area of FIFTEEN SQUARE MILES.
This would generate `green` electricity ( if the wind blows, but not too strong), but would it ever generate enough to compensate for the energy used in making ,delivering and installing them, and to couteract the CO2 generated by digging up all the peat?
Who cares?
When the land is finally covered by these white elephants, we can all escape to somewhere peaceful (if there is anywhere left) in our leecy cars ( if there is a gentle breeze).
The plot has been well and truly lost.
